A new article came out on Mashable.com recently, discussing a study that found that Facebook has the highest percentage of loyalists and that “20% of those that originate from the social network in turn visiting the site they landed upon four or more times in a week” which is an amazing statistic. The study analyzed the browsing habits of 33 million unique visitors and also found that Digg had 16% loyalty while Twitter only had 11% loyalty.

So what does this mean? According to the article, they believe,

“Perhaps that in the long-run, encouraging your visitors to share on Facebook might have the most value, even if it doesn’t provide the most short-term traffic.”

And if you think back to our basic human nature, we are sharing and communicative creatures. And in this day, we believe value lies in your client or user, and in their interactions and feedback, not necessarily in their traffic. So keep your Facebook users engaged and give them insights to what you do and involve them. It’s as simple as giving them a glimpse of upcoming events, projects or even daily activities. Content is king, just remember that.

As we all make our way through the daily maze of marketing and branding static and noise I hade a very cool experience by none other than a competitor of ours here in the city we live and work in.

I was handed a bottle of Red Chair IPA by a very genuinely nice individual. She said her travels to Humboldt, CA brought her upon this unique beer named Red Chair and she instantly thought of us. This was very interesting, since she works for a rival of ours, and that their name is really sort of vanilla…boring. Really! Think about what our brand and identity did. Not only was she taken by a cool label and name of a beer, but to think of us….the enemy and come by the office to drop it off. So very cool!

On another thought on this, as a branding agency and creative advertising agency, we are always talking about the power of a brand. Even though we live in a small city in the Central Valley, we have a tremendous opportunity to brand ourselves here and really anywhere. By taking the chance when I named Red Chair in a mostly conservative area in California, I have managed to set us apart by just our simple, descriptive name and image. A Red Chair.

Through our blog you will notice, we have
chosen to write about life experiences that
can tie into what we do, kind of a real world
take on this crazy business.

Taylor thanks for the thoughtful gift.
We now own real estate in your mind.

As a creative agency, you can imagine my surprise when a potential client came to the agency in a fit! Seems he had been with another agency that had helped him build and develop his marketing and advertising campaigns. The fit had not been from the creative itself, but from the way it had been brought to his attention.
As a creative our job is to understand what the client’s needs are and build a creative campaign around their core message. This takes time and effort, since you have to understand the mediums that are to be used. You develop the message specific for print, radio, TV and online (social, viral & website).

This particular client did not go into details of his campaign…they never even got there. Seems the agency that created the web presence had bought a template site and guaranteed it was their own creation! Really, it happened. The client had an employee that had been looking for a site to develop for his wife’s business and stumbled upon it. Busted.

The moral of this story is, if you claim to be a creative agency…be just that. The client is not a hermit in a cave, they want what they pay for, and that is not a mass-produced stock creative that a hundred others can have! This is their investment, their company and their image on the line…and the so-called agency should be very ashamed.

We must admit, this industry is a tad stained with false realities when it comes to original creativeness. And unfortunately, we’ve seen it here in our area and some clients are being taken advantage of and it’s frustrating for us to see this. But we here at Red Chair believe in originality and building something from the ground up. When you get a logo or website, you get a piece of art that has come from one artist’s mind suited to fit you and you only. We don’t own any cookie cutters here.

So, here it is, what we believe in so strongly, that originality and creativeness is the only foundation we stand on. Our mission statement:

By nature of design, and devotion of client service, we at Red Chair Creative Republic give oath to move boldly with all images, words, and lines. To build out of creation of our own minds, to never imitate originality, and to strive to preserve the art of brand awareness for you and your own republic.

We hope you feel the same way.

Simply put, everyone, everyone, advertises. This is actually a real photo we took in San Francisco. It really puts in perspective what advertising is and how many different people, businesses, and nature use it to get what they want.

We did this to prove the point that there is a lot of advertising going on in our world, and even in our town. Have you ever actually counted the number of advertisements you see, just from going from home to work each day? Take the time to do it, you will be amazed.

With everyone advertising and fighting for your attention, you have to be able to do it better. We can do it better for you.

BIRTH OF NEW CREATIVE AGENCY, DEATH OF TRADITIONAL MARKETING

We at Red Chair Marketing are hosting a small remembrance for “Mark Eting”. Mark, a long time team member of Red Chair was known as being too stuffy, and not creative enough. Red Chair decided now was the time to leave Mark Eting behind and bring more creativity back into the town of Visalia. This change spurred the need for a new name, one that was representative of our nature and therefore, we have became Red Chair Creative Republic.

Change has definitely come for Red Chair and this means for you, the client, if you so choose to be one. Here is what our team can do for you. Red Chair Creative Republic now offers up their best in Advertising, Branding + Identity, Digital Marketing, and Print Materials. This means you can have your Visalia Times Delta advertising created, your Home Show flyers printed, and your Facebook Page updated monthly.

Red Chair Creative Republic offers unconventional solutions to extraordinary problems. To celebrate the death of one and birth of another, we are soon to be offering explicit deals to new clients. But in the mean time, check back with us often and on our Facebook to see what Red Chair is working on.
